This July 2017-born Aberdeen Angus cross bullock weighing 1,155kg sold for €4,900 (€4.24/kg).

Tuam held its weekly cattle sale on Monday 23 June, with a selection of dry cows, bullocks, heifers, and a few weanlings on offer. There was a strong demand for cull cows, with feedlot buyers and factory agents battling it out for the 30 lots on offer. Top prices among the cull cows included €3,360 being paid for a May 2017-born Limousin dry cow weighing 775kg (€4.34/kg).

There were a few stock bulls on offer, with a 1,100kg Charolais stock bull selling for €3,980 (€3.62/kg). The heifer trade was strong with a lot of traditional breeds, such as Aberdeen Angus and Hereford cross heifers starting to appear.

The heifer trade was drove by factory agents, with a lot of farmers also still buying heifers for grass. A January 2019-born Limousin cross heifer weighing 690kg sold for €2,840 (€4.12/kg).
