In the news over the new faces on the Carbery board a fortnight ago I forgot to mention there’s a new chair on the board of Drinagh Co-op. With Donal McCarthy’s term completed, he was replaced by John Hurley who defeated Flor Cal McCarthy for the top job in the western of the west Cork co-ops.

The co-op’s vice-chair since 2024 he is well versed on the boardroom proceedings in Ballineen as Drinagh Co-op has two seats on the Carbery board.

I hear it was straight to business for board members new and old last week too as they were stateside reviewing the US-based food ingredients businesses last week.
