Clear skies and a scorching hot day is just what Mullingar Show ordered and that’s what it got on Sunday 13 July at its showgrounds on the outskirts of Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

Cattle numbers were up once again in the midlands, with some fiercely contested classes in the commercial and pedigree cattle sections.

Shown alongside her heifer calf, Flossy Sky is no stranger to the limelight, having won multiple titles on the show circuit last year and also represented Ireland in the champion of the world competition.

A daughter of Flossy Meg, her sire is the 2025 Royal Highland Show champion Hildaland Laird. This three-year-old cow was bred by Martin Kelly from Co Carlow, who exhibited the reserve champion Shorthorn Ricketstown Mayflower Tily.
