The Concerned Dairygold Shareholders have announced a public meeting to discuss, among other things, the price cut announced by Dairygold for May milk.
The meeting, like previous meetings organised by the five-person committee leading the group, will take place in the Firgrove Hotel in Mitchelstown, Co Cork.
Apart from milk price, the Irish Farmers Journal understands it will cover perceived "current failures of Dairygold's representative structure". It will also consider the milk supply agreement between Dairygold co-op and its suppliers.
It's understood there will be representation present from the Munster Dairy Producers Group, the producer group established last year for Kerry suppliers. The meeting will look at what lessons can be learned from their experiences so far, by Dairygold suppliers.
First meeting since legal letters
This will be the first meeting held by the Concerned Dairygold Suppliers since the legal letters sent to its committee's members by the co-op regarding potentially liable statements made on a WhatsApp group associated with them.
The meeting commences at 8pm tomorrow Wednesday 25 June.
