The 11 crew members were ‘incarcerated’ in O’Donovan’s Hotel, Clonakilty but west Cork’s climate (and possibly hospitality) got the better of Tojo.
Demand to see the deceased monkey from locals meant he was waked in a hotel bedroom before being buried with full military honours in the hotel’s garden.
