I hear that Clare man Brian McInerney has been ratified as the new chair of the Irish Grown Wool Council.
Having practiced as a barrister for the past three decades, kept a flock of his own and served a one-year stint on the Irish Limousin Cattle Society’s council, McInerney looks well fit for the job.
McInerney takes the helm at wool council just as UK wool prices hit a seven-year high of £1/kg. Could wool prices soon turn the corner needed to cover the cost of getting the stuff off, The Dealer wonders?
