The limited edition timed auction ran over the weekend in association with MartEye and Harrison and Hetherington.

The sale was made up of just over 40 lots of quality Suffolk and Texel females. The trade was sharp throughout the sale leading to a strong clearance rate and super pen averages.

Topping the sale selling a super Suffolk ewe lamb for £4,650 (€5,355) was Cavan man, David Argue.

The super lamb was a daughter of the 10,000gns Limestone Rizzler and her dam was the 5,500 Bessiebell. As well as this super pedigree she was also a double 5-star lamb. It was Richard Powell from Keady in Co Armagh that placed the winning bid on this stand-out ewe lamb. Powell also went on to purchase Rockdale Delihla for £3,500 (€4,031).

Argue went on to sell his third ewe lamb, Rockdale Diva, for £4,200 (€4,837). She was also a daughter of the 10,000gns Limestone Rizzler and she was purchased by Donegal man Christopher Johnston. Argue achieved a super average of £2,980 (€3,432) for his consignment of five ewe lambs.

The top-priced Suffolk shearling ewe also came from Co Cavan, this time from breeders Shane and Sarah Brady. This stylish, silky haired shearling ewe sold for £4,100 (€4,720) to Messrs McCabe from Co Cavan. The flashy shearling ewe was a daughter of Bessiebell Big Brother a Frongroy Rocket son.

Topping the Texel consignment was a striking ewe lamb from the Tullig flock of Adam Heffernan from Co Kerry.

This lamb had a serious pedigree being a daughter of the 100,000gns Auldhouseburn Expression and her dam being a full sister to the 8,500gns Mainview Four Square. Placing the winning bid of £3,050 (€3,511) was well know Scottish Texel breeder Alan Blackwood of the Auldhouseburn flock.
