Watch: grazing gets more difficult on Thrive demo farm - Free
After a really dry February and an excellent almost three weeks at grass, ground conditions have become more difficult over the past seven days, with heavy rainfall last Sunday night into Monday really testing conditions underfoot.
The 72 yearling heifers and 13 yearling bullocks have been maintained at grass.
However, the rest of the bullocks are yet to be turned out to grass.
In wet weather, stock need to be moving to fresh grass at least every 48 hours and possibly every 24 hours when rainfall is heavy.
The lightest 13 bullocks were pulled out of the batch to get preferential treatment by getting out to grass at the same time as the heifers.
It is hoped that the rest of the bullocks will start to get to grass next week, weather-dependent.
