Total support payments for ewes have been increased to €25/ewe when combined with the €12/ewe Sheep Improvement Scheme (SIS).
Farmers participating in the Sheep Welfare Scheme and the Sheep Improvement Scheme will see the level of support increase from €20 to €25 per ewe in 2025.

The sale of the native breed is one of the largest in recent years with over 100 sheep entered including a strong ewe lamb class and 20 rams, 13 of which are SIS eligible.
Breeding is a good time to check for missing tags as it avoids unnecessary handling of sheep in early gestation.
