Temperatures are forecast to hit 29°C in parts of the country on Friday.

Met Éireann has said that Friday will be dry overall, with spells of high summer sunshine.

There is a possibility of heavy showers in some areas, but the day will be humid, with top temperatures of 21°C to 29°C, with highest values in the midlands and north.

There will be mostly moderate southeast breezes.

Saturday

Met Éireann has said that warm sunshine is expected on Saturday, with a scattering of showers, some heavy and possibly thundery.

Top temperatures of 19°C to 25°C are expected and it will be warmest across the eastern half of the country, all in a light to moderate southwest wind, according to Met Éireann.

Sunday

Sunday is forecast to be fresher and breezier, with highest temperatures of 15°C to 20°C.

There will be some sunny spells, but showery rain too, all with rather brisk westerly winds.
