Samco Agricultural Engineering will be displaying its full range of kit at this year’s FTMTA show. This will include its new silage fork, with widths now available from 12ft to 16ft, with 5ft or 6ft tines. It says wider spacing is also becoming popular with precision-chop contractors, as the grass is allowed to flow through the tines, thus reducing the amount of ‘flicking’ needed, allowing more time for rolling.
Samco claims to have the only silage fork available with double ball self-angling bearings for long service use. It says the positioning of the bearing system at the outside of the hinge points increases strength and reduces wear.
It claims to have the lowest weight to working width of forks on the market, by using laser-tube cutting technology, using hot-rolled box iron section in the construction made from high-grade steel.
Samco says the wheel extenders are growing in popularity. It says the speed at which they can be moved from road to pit working position is less than three minutes for the pair.
Depending on the loader model, widths of up to 12 inches can be achieved, allowing the front wheels to be offset from the rear. It says the biggest advantage is the stability and safety it brings to the operator. There are now three rim sizes available (26-32inch).

Samco’s range of maize drills will be on show. With features available such as 2,000l front tank and new controllers, the emphasis on output has increased.
Its folding 5m land leveller with its unique stone collector will be on display, as will the three- and five-leg grassland and tillage equipment.
Adding to the range will be two sizes of disc harrows, fitted with deep-notched discs, ideal for grassland reseeding to chop up the scraw. A new designed stone fork will also be on the stand.
Samco’s CTS 1600 bale transporter will also make the cut. It is a one-person operation, fully automated for the loading, transport and unloading of round bales, with a capacity of 16 bales. The machine picks up the bales in the same direction as the baler releases them, meaning no crossing of the field.
