Rachel Gallagher reports from GVM Tullamore Mart for the 14th annual Sheep Ireland multi-breed ram sale where average prices increased by €58/head and the sale average hit 90%.
With ram sales in full flight there is a number of queries being raised regarding compliance with certain aspects of the genotyped ram action.
The Sheep Ireland sale recorded an average price of €853 for 464 rams across 11 breeds and achieved a high clearance rate of 90%.
The deadline for applying for an extension for the sheep dipping action in the sheep welfare scheme is 15 September 2024.
