Irish Farmers Journal breakfast bulletin: trade war and grass explosion
Good morning. In the news today: Aidan Brennan advises farmers to be prepared for a grass explosion, SuperValu is back as Ireland's largest retailer, and China and the US cosy up to each other.
It will be breezy on Tuesday morning, with a freshening west to southwest wind. It will be another largely dry day that will be cloudy most of the time, but with sunshine breaking through the cloud on occasions. Top temperatures will range from 11°C to 15°C, highest in the south and east of the country.

Aidan Brennan is advising farmers to be prepared for a grass explosion, with growth expected to take off.
There were over 1,700 calves on offer at Bandon Mart on Monday with continental bull making up to €580.
It’s a cosy relationship between China and the US, according to new reports. A trade war between the two has been averted, with the US getting access to the lucrative Chinese beef market.
Sales of new tractors in Ireland and the UK have hit new heights, according new figures released.
And finally, a young farmer, aged five, was stopped by police in Germany last week after he was found driving his pedal tractor on a roadside at 9pm looking for a petrol station.
