This week, the Irish Texel Sheep Society launched its 2025 all-Ireland championships.

This year's all-Ireland championships are set to be held on Saturday 28 June at Finn Valley Show in Co Donegal.

The main sponsor of the 2025 show is Univet.

The show promises to be one of the largest shows of sheep in the country, with a monster entry of Texel sheep from right across the country.

The judge for the prestigious competition is Charlie Boden of the renowned Sportsmans flock, the home of the world record-breaking ram Sportsmans Double Diamond.

'Five Nations' event

Also running across the weekend is the 'Five Nations' event, where young Texel breeders from across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales come together and get to know each other and visit flocks in a different region each year.

On Friday, the group will visit a number of top Donegal flocks and on Saturday they will attend Finn Valley Show for the all-Ireland championships.
