At this year’s National Ploughing Championship, McHale Plant Sales, the Irish Komatsu and Prinoth distributor, will showcase a range of exhibits, suiting all customers within the agricultural, construction and forestry sectors.

Set to make its Irish debut at the event is the all-new Komatsu PC220LC-12 excavator following its global launch at Germany’s Bauma construction show earlier in the year.

The PC220LC-12 has an operating weight of 24,885kg and is fitted with a 173hp engine which is claimed to offer 18% fuel savings over the current PC210LC-11 model.

Other updates include a 16% larger cab with improved access, 30% more legroom and upgraded standard and premium seats.

Hydraulic pump capacity has been increased by 6%, leading to a 7% increase in digging force. Service intervals have also been extended.

The control interface has been upgraded offering new adjustable working modes and improved safety thanks to the KomVision 360 degree camera system.

Other Komatsu machines on display will include the PC78US-11, which is also new to the Irish market, a PC138 excavator and the WA380-8 agri-spec wheel loader, which has proved a popular model among the agri contracting sector for silage pit duties.

Catering for the forestry sector, McHale will display a Komatsu model 845 forwarder.

McHale’s will also exhibit a number of wares from the Prinoth brand, specialists in tracked dumper and forestry mulching equipment.

One machine returning to the event is the Raptor 100 remote-controlled mulcher. The tracked tool carrier and mulcher is designed for vegetation management and land clearance, particularly sloped terrain (up to 45 degrees).

It is fitted with a 75hp Deutz engine and hydrostatic transmission and can be operated from within a radius of 100m. Track width is adjustable from 120cm to 160cm and ground clearance is 30cm.

Up front is the M450h mulcher offered in three working widths, 1,25cm, 1.35cm and 1.45cm. A number of flail options are available. Equipped with the widest mulching head the units weigh in at 2,590kg.

Also from the Prinoth brand, McHale will exhibit two excavator-driven mulchers, a M350e-750 unit suitable for a 5t excavator, and a M450e-1090 unit for 12-15t excavators.

The Komatsu PC220LC-12 will make its Irish debut at the event.

The Prinoth Raptor remote-controlled mulcher can be equipped with a number of mulching head options.
