Tim Price with his son Otis at Tattersalls 2019 \ Radka Presiloka.
Event riders from around the world made their way to Rathoath, Co Meath for the Tattersalls International Horse Trials and Country Fair last weekend.
British riders dominated proceedings, with Izzy Taylor winning two of the eight classes on offer – The Irish Field CCI4*-L with PSH Gazelle and the Cooley Farm CCIYH2*-L with Heartacker.
William Fox-Pitt partnered Georgisaurous to victory in the Eventing Ireland CCI3*-L and JP Sheffield won the Land Rover CCI2*-L riding Woodlander Wesuvio.
World number one Tim Price claimed the George Mernagh Memorial CCI4*-S with Ascona M, while Japan’s Kazuma Tomoto came second, Britain’s Alexander Bragg third and Ireland’s Sam Watson fourth with Tullabeg Flamenco.
Irish riders had more success in the underage classes, Cathal Daniels won the Connolly’s Red Mills CCIU253*-L with LEB Lias Jewel. One fence down with OLS King Aragon in the show jumping prevented him from recording a one-two in the class.
Junior rider Chloe Fagan made her international debut on horses one to remember as she won the Horseware Ireland CCIJ2*-L with Versace Biscuit.
The pony class was perhaps the most disappointing as nine riders started the Berney Bros Saddlery CCI2*-L for ponies but only two managed to finish. Grace Tyrrell won with Fiona’s Fionn and Aine Duggan finished second.
