</div></div><p>Through its sheer vastness, the Ploughing highlights the economic importance of farming, as well as the social fabric it weaves throughout towns and villages across the country. </p><p>For one week in mid-September all eyes are on farming. From politicians and the president to rural and urban dwellers alike.</p><p>It’s a chance for farming to have its story told and its voice heard on home turf. </p><p>Literally. This supplement is a guide to the Ploughing, taking place next week from 17 to 19 September in Ratheniska, Co Laois. </p><p>You’ll find a map of the trade stands, information on how to get there and advice dotted throughout on what to see. </p><p>Also, let’s not forget the reason for this event in the first place – the ploughing match!
