Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) is the national foundation for investment in research and that makes a difference in many areas of our society and economy, including their involvement with VistaMilk.
Agriculture and food research and innovation is one of the beneficiaries through the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine (DAFM) partnership.
The VistaMilk SFI Research Centre, which is hosted by Teagasc, is one such example.
VistaMilk, which is led by Donagh Berry, represents a unique collaboration between agri food and information communications technology (ICT) research institutes and leading Irish/multinational food and ICT companies.
Science week
SFI’s largest public engagement effort every year is Science Week. Now in its 25th year, Science Week runs every November and provides the public an opportunity to engage with and celebrate science in our everyday lives. It is a collaboration of events involving industry, colleges, schools, libraries, teachers, researchers and students throughout Ireland. The core theme for Science Week 2020 is “Choosing our Future” focusing on how science can improve our lives in the future and in the present.
