This ranged from €3.87/kg paid for a batch of 31 young Charollais-cross lambs to a high of €4.47/kg paid for 16 well-presented lambs weighing 30kg.
Store lambs weighing from 37kg to 40kg ranged in price from 43.70/kg to €3.90/kg while short-keep store weighing from 42kg to 45kg sold in the main from €3.60/kg to upwards of €3.90/kg.
A keener demand for finished lambs saw agents compete for lambs weighing 44kg to 45kg with any satisfactory cover of flesh.
Lambs weighing from 46kg to 47.5kg sold from €3.61/kg to €3.75/kg or from €165 to €178 per head.
The general run of prices for fleshed lambs weighing 48kg to 50kg ranged from €175 to €180 with such lambs returning a higher price than if traded in the factory without any additional negotiating power. While a few lots of lambs weighing 52kg to 59kg sold from €3/kg to €3.37/kg or from €180 to €183.
