I hear that there were a few cheeky digs thrown in jest in the direction of IFA president Francie Gorman on Monday, with the jibes coming from none other the association’s Ulster-north Leinster chair Frank Brady.

Brady opened a farmer meeting in Cavan by noting that the two had now firmly set any past quibbles aside, but the Galway man living in Monaghan did not pass over the opportunity he had to cast some light-hearted shade on the IFA leader.

The meeting heard from a grinning Brady that Gorman prefers to be addressed by his title as “president” rather than as Francie, a comment which the latter refuted with a healthy measure of head shaking.
